Superhuman acquired Fathom, the YC-backed AI meeting platform used at more than 300,000 companies and HubSpot's 2025 Most Used App of the Year, on 15 September for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition integrates Fathom's meeting transcripts and summaries directly into Superhuman's agentic workflows: the platform's proactive AI assistant, Go, can now review standup transcripts, update project trackers, flag items for manager approval, and surface action items without manual export. Superhuman covers email, calendar, documents, databases, meetings, and proactive AI assistance in a single integrated suite. The deal signals that AI productivity platforms are consolidating aggressively around end-to-end agentic work, and standalone meeting-intelligence tools face a structural question as surrounding platforms absorb their core function — the same consolidation pressure that has affected standalone grammar tools, AI writing assistants, and summarisation products.
