Google has expanded AI Mode to include flight price tracking across more than three hundred airlines in one hundred and eighty countries, hotel inventory with direct booking from ten major chains, and award redemption calculations in frequent-flyer miles. The update converts AI Mode from an informational layer into a transactional one in direct competition with established online travel agencies. Travel brands not optimising their structured data for AI Mode retrieval — ensuring inventory, pricing, and availability data is machine-readable by Google's AI systems — risk functional absence from the interface for the portion of travel search that routes through AI. That portion is, by current trajectory, growing faster than any other segment of travel discovery.
